How Social Buzz works
Last updated: 6 November 2026
Social Buzz is SocialOTT’s read on how loudly—and how positively—people are talking about a title right now. It sits beside platform ratings and the SocialOTT score so you can separate “critically solid” from “everyone is talking about it.”
What the live score measures
The Social Buzz live score is a heat index curated by the Audience and Social Buzz Reviewers for each title. Higher numbers mean stronger recent buzz after that curated snapshot is published. It is not a star rating out of ten, and it is not the same as the SocialOTT composite score.
- Mention count — how many curated highlights and reviews have been published for the title.
- Sentiment — Mostly positive, Positive, Mixed, or Negative, based on the Audience & Social Buzz Reviewers mood label.
- Live score — a single number summarizing heat so you can compare titles on the home slider and detail page.
How content gets into SocialOTT
Social Buzz copy, highlights, and scores are Audience & Social Buzz Reviewers–curated. Reviewers and audience contributors shape what appears on title pages so you see a curated signal—not an unfiltered firehose. When a title is still being prepared, we show a clear “coming soon” style state instead of inventing buzz.
How to read it next to other scores
- High buzz + high SocialOTT score → widely discussed and generally well-liked.
- High buzz + mixed/negative sentiment → loud conversation, not necessarily a recommendation.
- Low buzz + strong platform scores → quieter title that may still be worth your time.
